Dr. Barbara Tzschentke is Private Docent at Humboldt-Universität, Berlin, Germany. Her research is focused on the influence by environmental (epigenetic) incubation factors on the development of thermoregulation, metabolism, feed intake and body weight of chickens. Actual research projects deal with the influence of embryonic short-term temperature training on physiology, performance and behaviour in chickens and with programming of the central regulation of food intake and body weight of chickens by in-ovo nutrition.
Since 2003 she was involved in the establishment of the Working Group Physiology of the European Branches of the World´s Poultry Science Association (WPSA). She is board member of the German Group and chair of the Working Group Physiology of the European Branches of WPSA.
