1932

Heinz LOHMANN founds the Deutsche Fischmehl GmbH in Cuxhaven, Germany.

1959

Start of layer breeding in Cuxhaven, based on a license agreement with Heisdorf & Nelson (H&N), USA, and establishment of the LOHMANN TIERZUCHT Veterinary Laboratory.

1968

Development of specific pathogen free (SPF) flocks for the production of LOHMANN Vaccine SPF Eggs (VALO).

1970

Transformation of LOHMANN & Co. KG into LOHMANN & Co. AG and spin-off of LOHMANN TIERZUCHT GmbH (incl. Veterinary Laboratory and VALO SPF).

1977

Expiry of the license agreement with H&N. Global sales of LSL layers.

1984

Product launch LOHMANN BROWN layers.

1987

Paul Wesjohann & Co. GmbH acquires the LOHMANN & Co. AG including its subsidiary LOHMANN TIERZUCHT GmbH.

2008

Opening of a new vaccine plant.

2010

Spin-off of the vaccine business into an independent affiliate company “vaxxinova GmbH”.

2011

Spin-off of the VALO SPF division into a subsidiary “Valo BioMedia GmbH”.
