Patent awarded to Lohmann Tierzucht 29.10.07 The European patent office in Munich recently awarded Lohmann Tierzucht a patent for the marker-assisted selection of hens without “fishy odour”, otherwise known as “TMA Syndrome”. Lohmann Tierzucht initiated and financed a research project with German as well as Finnish scientists with the aim of ensuring that fishy odour eggs laid by Lohmann Brown hens, become a thing of the past.
